A New York-based theater troupe known for projects investigating real-life topics has been awarded a $700,000 grant from the National Science Foundation.The Obie-winning group The Civilians received the rare three-year award for their production of a musical about climate change called "The Great Immensity."The work tells the story of a photojournalist who disappears while working in the rain forests of Panama. It's based on interviews with scientists, trappers, shippers, indigenous community leaders, tour guides and politicians.
